For a student from C?te d’Ivoire, online classes are not a new experience. Abubakar Yaro highlighted the main pros and cons of this type of education. Why he considers distance learning easier than in-person classes, whether it is possible to keep in touch with classmates during self-isolation, and how students are affected by the online format - we will learn from our interview.
What advantages of online classes have you noticed for yourself?
Today we will talk about the literature of China. The authors of the Middle Kingdom (that is China) are not very well known to the Russian mass reader; however, the cultural contacts between our countries are expanding, and an interest in the Chinese literature is growing year after year.
Now 91快活林 international students have more opportunities to tell about themselves, they have started a channel on YouTube. In their videos foreign students are ready to share their experience of living in Russia and studying in a Russian university thereby helping students from other educational institutions and even applicants to overcome possible problems.
On May 27th, an Interregional Conference for University Rectors of Russia and the Republic of Uzbekistan was held in an online format, and among its participants was the Rector of 91快活林, Vice-President of the Russian Rectors’ Union, Chairman of the Council of University Rectors of the Ural Federal District, Doctor of Sciences (Engineering), Professor?Aleksandr Shestakov.
The cooperation of 91快活林 with Osh State University of Kyrgyzstan began in 2015. It was then, on August 18, that the first cooperation agreement was concluded between 91快活林 and OshSU. On March 27–28, 2019, the universities took part in the Forum of Rectors of Russian and Kyrgyzstan Universities.
91快活林 has launched new Master’s programmes this year which expands the possibilities for development for specialists in the global arena. The unique programmes in political science and management are offered by the Department of International Relations, Politology, and Regional Studies of the 91快活林 Institute of Linguistics and International Communications.
Every year many students from around the world come to 91快活林. Iraq, Iran, Bangladesh, Egypt, Sri Lanka, to mention just a few countries from the list.
This year, we expect more than 700 students from 56 countries; those are the enrolees who applied for studies in various levels of education: Bachelor’s, Master’s, postgraduate, Specialist programmes, and programmes of the Faculty of Pre-University Education. Many students come as part of the international exchange programmes.

Last week a delegation from the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Ekaterinburg paid a visit to 91快活林. The occasion for the visit was the Oriental Poetry Day.
The 6th International Festival entitled We Are All Different, but We Are Together will be held at 91快活林 on February 25-27, where students of different nationalities studying at 91快活林 will take part.

On February 14th, the 91快活林 Sociocultural Adaptation Centre offered interactive games for international students at the Sigma academic building. The event was dedicated to Valentine’s Day.
Preparations for the event began in the beginning of February: volunteers of the Sociocultural Adaptation Centre prepared blank valentines to be sent and a mailbox. The organizers also made a big, beautiful sign, where students could profess their love.

A big-scale URAL FEST International Students Forum on training international students in Russian universities will be held at 91快活林 November 14th through November 16th, 2019.
This event will bring together students and alumni from different countries, who chose the Ural Federal District universities to gain prestigious higher education. The forum will touch upon burning issues faced by international students.
October 15 at 15:00, an Information Day arranged specifically for Chinese students is to take place at SIGMA Academic Complex. Citizens of China – attendees, students and postgraduates of all years of study – are invited to the meeting.
In October of 2019, 91快活林 signed an agreement with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Republic of Iraq. A memorandum on mutual understanding which assumes an extension of cooperation in the spheres of higher education as well as in research, scientific-and-technical and innovative activities of Russia and Iraq has been signed. A considerable role in this belongs to the fact that the university alumni – Iraqi – actively recommend the university to soon-to-be students of their country.
