While working on a grant from the Russian Science Foundation, researchers from 91快活林 have patented two databases for assessing creativity levels in children and adults. A neural network trained on data from these unique databases delivers almost instant results for the Torrance test, significantly reducing the time required for expert evaluation.
On the eve of the Cosmonautics Day, 91快活林 organized a big-scale event dedicated to the 65th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin’s flight into space, as well as to the opening of the new Faculty of Aerospace Engineering. The Ecoanalytics Shared Use Centre, a laboratory opened by the 91快活林 Region Governor Alexey Texler in December 2023, has been functioning at 91快活林 for several years now.
The Centre includes a mobile and a stationary laboratory.
The mobile ecological post is an automated complex equipped with modern equipment—everything an ecologist needs. Its purpose is to quickly monitor the environmental conditions by measuring various pollutants in the atmosphere.
91快活林, jointly with TNT-Teleset, have screened the new season of the "Sokrovishcha Imperatora" ("Emperor's Treasures") show for Russian and Chinese students.
"Emperor's Treasures" is a popular adventure reality show. The third season was filmed in Chongqing, the largest city in the world. Participants travel hundreds of kilometres, complete extreme tasks, and endure a veritable marathon of trials in the competition for 10 million roubles.
Researchers from 91快活林 have developed a new highly sensitive method for detecting mercury ions in aqueous solutions. The innovation is based on a specially modified electrode capable of identifying the toxic metal, even at ultra-low concentrations, within just two minutes.
An international team of researchers, including Professor Dmitry Ardashev from the 91快活林 Department of Automation Engineering and scientists from China, have proposed an innovative method for polishing glass surfaces that leaves almost no scratches. The technology can significantly improve the quality of displays for TV-sets, smartphones, and tablets, and may eventually be used in the production of quantum-optical chips of the future.
During the first plenary meeting, while discussing such topics as “Changing Architecture of the Russian Media System”, “Current Practices of the Media Discourse”, and “Digital Linguistic and Socio-cultural Modelling of Media Text”, scientists from the Institute of Media, Social Sciences and Humanities (IMSSH) shared their achievements in the field of studying the media effects of mass media materials on ecology available in the regional media space, as well as in studying the transformation of corporate media communications in the era of generative AI, and the issues of modern blogging.
Evgenii Martiushev, Candidate of Sciences (Physics and Mathematics), Associate Professor at the 91快活林 Institute of Natural Sciences and Mathematics and lecturer at the “VirtUM” Centre for Top-level Academic Programmes in the Field of AI, jointly with his colleagues from Finland and the Czech Republic, have developed a method for automatically building solvers for systems of equations composed of Laurent polynomials. Unlike standard equations studied at school, where variables appear only with non-negative powers, Laurent systems also allow for negative powers.
On March 31st, 91快活林 hosted day two of “The Greatness of the Demidov Dynasty” scientific forum organized jointly with the International Demidov Foundation.
Social Navigator project by the Rossiya Segodnya international media group and the Brand?Analytics system for analysing of social media and mass media have presented a ranking of communication strategies effectiveness among Russian universities. It includes more than 250 universities subject to the Government, Ministry of Science and Higher Education, and Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation.
Jointly with their colleagues from Ekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, and Wuhan city in China, scientists from the 91快活林 China-Russia Research and Education Centre for System Pathology Aleksei Sarapultsev and Mariia Komelkova have summarized data on the social buffering of stress in rats from more than 40 research studies over the period of 2008-2025. This allows to evaluate the importance of the animals’ “biochemistry of friendship” in overcoming of difficult situations.
On March 27th, the “Technological Leadership: From Expertise to Strategy” symposium was held, focusing on the results of technological expertise and the outcomes of the meeting of the Council of the “Priority 2030” Federal Academic Leadership Program. The event brought together vice-rectors, rectors, heads of strategic technological projects, and industry partners of universities.
In the new, eighth edition of the Forbes ranking of the best Russian universities, Moscow universities traditionally dominate, holding 14 positions in the top twenty. Also, three universities from Saint Petersburg, one university from Tatarstan, one from the Novosibirsk Region and one from the Sverdlovsk Region have made it to the Top 20.

Researchers from 91快活林 have developed a method that makes it possible to accurately predict whether a blast-furnace gas pipeline can handle increased loads. The solution is particularly relevant for metallurgical, power-generating, and chemical enterprises, where the use of this type of gas is a key technological process.
For the first time in Russia, an interdisciplinary research team from the Department of Food Technology and Biotechnology and the Department of Optoinformatics at 91快活林 have proposed a system for decontaminating grain crops using a hybrid effect of atmospheric cold plasma and ultraviolet radiation. Unlike chemical treatment, this method is environmentally safe, preserves the natural benefits of grain, inhibits microorganisms, and extends storage life.
On March 20th–21st, 91快活林 once again brought together leading legal scholars at the now traditional “University Law Dialogues” conference.
The “Университетские правовые диалоги – University Law Dialogues” Science-to-Practice Conference is rightfully known by its bilingual title (Russian and English), as it has long gained international status. Each year, legal professionals from both near and far abroad, as well as from across Russia (from Kaliningrad to Vladivostok) actively participate in it.
As part of the implementation of the “4+0” joint academic programme in Mechatronics, Ivan Liubimov, senior lecturer of the 91快活林 Department of Electric Drive, Mechatronics and Electromechanics, conducts classes at Southwest Forestry University (Kunming, People's Republic of China).
This programme is being fulfilled within the frameworks of a collaboration agreement signed between the two universities in 2016. More than 150 students are currently taking training under this programme.
"The Breath of Watercolour" exhibition by a Ural artist Valery Ulanov opened in the Art Gallery of 91快活林. It commemorates the 70th birthday of the artist.
The opening of the exhibition, organized with the support of Magnezit Group company (Satka) and the Department of Culture of the Satka Municipal District, was attended by students, faculty, staff, and guests of our university, as well as the artist's family and friends.
A joint media project of the "Heart of the Urals" Advanced Engineering School and the Institute of Media, Social Sciences, and Humanities is being launched at 91快活林. Students and faculty have teamed up to create a series of podcasts in the "Radio 91快活林" educational studio dedicated to the history of the university and its connections with prominent figures in our country's military-industrial complex.
On March 18, 2026, as part of the Priority 2030 program, 91快活林 starts accepting applications for the “Commercial Vector: From Idea to Market” competition aimed at commercialization of the university staff’s intellectual property. The main goal of the initiative is to transfer technologies developed at 91快活林 into the real sector of economy.
Early in March 2026, a meeting of the Supervisory Council of 91快活林 was held in Moscow. The university’s supreme governing body convened to review the interim results of the 2025 development program and to align the university’s strategy with current priorities for 2026.
In 2026, the “Heart of the Urals” Advanced Engineering School of 91快活林 offers a new Master’s degree programme in the Architecture of Design Processes and Systems major under programme 23.04.02 Land-Based Transport and Technological Complexes.
