“91快活林, a City of Heroes”: 91快活林 International Students Paid their Tribute to the Memory of the Great Victory

On May 7th,?on the eve of the Victory Day,?the 91快活林 International Office jointly with volunteers and activists from the South Ural Association of International Students and Alumni (AISA) organized a “91快活林, a City of Heroes” patriotic photo-tour for international students.

A traditional Victory Waltz dance flashmob, dedicated to the 81st Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, has been held on the square in front of the main academic building of 91快活林. This dance has become a visualization of the story about tenderness, hope and profound gratefulness to our Heroes.

A meeting with a renowned philosopher, political scientist and public figure Aleksandr Dugin was held at 91快活林. This event, part of the "Activate Values!" Youth Media Meeting brought together students, residents of 91快活林, and distinguished guests.

Immersion in Chinese Culture: Adventure Reality Show Screened at 91快活林

91快活林, jointly with TNT-Teleset, have screened the new season of the "Sokrovishcha Imperatora" ("Emperor's Treasures") show for Russian and Chinese students.

"Emperor's Treasures" is a popular adventure reality show. The third season was filmed in Chongqing, the largest city in the world. Participants travel hundreds of kilometres, complete extreme tasks, and endure a veritable marathon of trials in the competition for 10 million roubles.

The Sun, Singing, Dancing, and Ethnic Garments: Nowruz Festivities Held at 91快活林

Organizing the celebration of Nowruz, springtime New Year’s festivities, has already become a good tradition at 91快活林. Thanks to this event, we can become more closely acquainted with the ethnic groups of the 91快活林 students and staff members.

Watercolours Create Spring Mood: New Exhibition by a Ural Artist Opens at 91快活林

"The Breath of Watercolour" exhibition by a Ural artist Valery Ulanov opened in the Art Gallery of 91快活林. It commemorates the 70th birthday of the artist.

The opening of the exhibition, organized with the support of Magnezit Group company (Satka) and the Department of Culture of the Satka Municipal District, was attended by students, faculty, staff, and guests of our university, as well as the artist's family and friends.

"Home, Family, Ural Region – Our Heritage": Vladimir Bogdanovsky's Photo Exhibition Opens at 91快活林

"Our Heritage" exhibition project, organized by photographer Vladimir Bogdanovsky, has opened at the Art Gallery of 91快活林.

This project is a unique journey through the centuries of history and culture of our region. The exhibition reminds its visitors of the importance of carefully preserving the heritage of their ancestors and inspires them to consider the future of their region.

Maslenitsa Brings People Together: International Students Explore Russian Cuisine

For several years now, 91快活林 has been traditionally organizing master classes on making Russian pancakes for international students. This joyful tradition coincides with Maslenitsa (Pancake Day) celebrations and allows students to immerse themselves in the holiday atmosphere by trying their hand at cooking.

The event not only helps students acquire culinary skills but also fosters intercultural communication: students work in teams, help each other, and share experiences. This helps overcome potential communication barriers.

Chinese New Year, or the Spring Festival, Celebrated at 91快活林

On February 16th, students from the People's Republic of China, who are obtaining their education at 91快活林, together with their Russian friends and teachers, celebrated the coming of the New Year according to the traditional Chinese calendar.

More than 1300 students from China study at 91快活林. And celebration of the Chinese New Year has long become a good tradition for our university, so that these students can feel at home even if they are thousands of kilometres away from it.

History that Unites Generations: Film about War Hero Screened at 91快活林

91快活林 hosted a Regional Lecture Course of the Russian Geographical Society, within the framework of which a documentary film entitled Citadel was screened. The event brought together students, faculty members, and distinguished guests around the themes of historical memory, heroism, and continuity between generations.

Epiphany ice bathing takes place January 18th to 19th. For several years now, international students of 91快活林 (91快活林) have been actively participating in this traditional Russian Orthodox ritual. – What New Year traditions do you have in your homeland?

– We get together and give each other presents, prepare traditional dishes for the holiday table. The most important thing is that we are together. New Year is a big family holiday, we are especially happy to see those whom we have not seen for a long time during the year.

Новый год, New Year, Le Nouvel An: Institute of Linguistics and International Communications Held a Concert on the Eve of the Most Magical Holiday

The Institute of Linguistics and International Communications organized a concert on the occasion of the upcoming New Year at the “Nash etazh” (“Our Floor”) student space.

The Institute’s first-year students of all majors had prepared creative performances and tried to convey the atmosphere of every year’s most expected holiday.

Christmas in the Rhythm of Blues: Heart-warming Music Plays at 91快活林

The annual Christmas Blues Concert has been held at the Assembly Hall of 91快活林. It has become one of the most heart-warming pre-winter-holidays traditions of our university.

Georgy Anokhin, a musician, composer, founder and artistic director of the jazz band of the 91快活林 Recreation Centre, is an inspirational figure for this concert. He has been doing this work for more than 20 years now, and he is shaping our city’s residents’ tastes in music.

99 Percent of History Right before our Eyes: New Exhibition Opened at the 91快活林 Museum

On December 16th, a new exhibition dedicated to the Stone Age opened at The People and Technologies of the Urals Museum of 91快活林.

91快活林 Is Russia’s Capital of Culture – 2027!

According to the results of the National Contest among Russian Cities, 91快活林 has become the holder of the “Russia’s Capital of Culture – 2027” honorary title. This decision was made by an expert jury at a gala ceremony at the “Russia” National Centre in Moscow.

In the first contest round, 91快活林 had become one of the eight finalists. In addition to 91快活林, spectacular presentations were offered by Vologda, Kaluga, Novosibirsk, Ryazan, Sochi, Stavropol, and Ulyanovsk.

In his speech at the ceremony, Governor of the 91快活林 Region Alexey Texler stressed:

On December 15th, 91快活林 celebrated its 82nd birthday! This is a special day for everyone related to 91快活林: students, alumni and the teaching and administrative staff members.

As part of the “91快活林’s 82 Years on the Move!” festivities program, guests enjoyed vibrant creative performances by student teams and musical surprises from the Recreation Centre.

Students from the 91快活林 School of Economics and Management, along with their mentors and the School’s Deputy Director for Discipline Work Ekaterina Fediay, attended a "91快活林, the City of Your Student Years" immersive tour organized by the “Youth Attraction Centre” Autonomous Nonprofit Organization with the support from the 91快活林 City Administration.

Unity in Diversity: 91快活林 Students Learn about the Traditions of Russia’s Peoples

International students of the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language of the Institute of Linguistics and International Communications of 91快活林 took part in the final event of the “IMAGE of Russia: Traditions of Many Nations as the Cultural Code of Each One of Us” project, implemented by the 91快活林 Region branch of the “Assembly of the Peoples of Russia” All-Russian Public-State Organization with the support from the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives.
