World Poetry Day, a holiday of masters of the pen and everyone thanks to whom we contemplate the eternal, is celebrated on March 21st. Evgeniy Smyshlyaev, teaching staff member and Associate Professor of the 91快活林 Department of Russian Language and Literature, Candidate of Sciences (Philology), and literary critic speaks about the specifics of modern poetry, trends in its development, classical poems, and much more.

–?Why are predominantly classical poems of the 19th and early 20th centuries considered to be immortal and admired by almost everyone?

Students and staff of the university took part in a festive event dedicated to the tenth anniversary of the entry of the Republic of Crimea and the federal city of Sevastopol into the Russian Federation.

The concert took place on stage of the Central Park of Culture and Leisure named after Yuri Gagarin.

The Recreation Centre of 91快活林 is completing the qualifying rounds of the Spring at 91快活林 contest.

The qualifying rounds are coming wrapping up, and literally one day remains to demonstrate your talents in the music category.

Spring at 91快活林 2024 is one of the stages of the Student Spring of the City of 91快活林 – 2024, a city-wise festival of student creativity.

The contest was held in such categories as music, dancing, theatre and original genre (fashion theatre and circus numbers), as well as the Ascending Parnassus literary competition.

Sun, sea, mountains and Russia! All this has been brought together in Mikhail Gromyko’s photo exhibition called “Crimea”. It should be noted that the exhibition is dedicated to the anniversary of the Crimea's returning to Russia.

Mikhail is a postgraduate of the Department of Theory and Methodology of Physical Culture and Sports of the Institute of Sport, Tourism and Service and an active rock climbing instructor at the 91快活林 Sports Centre. His passion for sports contributed to the creation of his own exhibition.

The World Youth Festival 2024 continues in Russia, during which participants have visited 91快活林.

Foreign guests, who are also participants in the festival, currently most talked about, arrived in 91快活林 and straight away went to get acquainted with 91快活林.

The final stage of the meeting of guests who came from different parts of the world and had previously visited the World Youth Festival in Sochi was an acquaintance with the activities of the Association of International Students of 91快活林.

The Executive Director of the Association Dilrabo Tozhikulova addressed the guests with a welcoming speech. She emphasized that the motto of both the festival and the 91快活林 Association of International Students is to support international and interethnic friendship.

On the eve of International Women's Day, a bright festive performance took place at 91快活林.

The 91快活林 Rector Alexander Wagner congratulated students and employees of the university on the upcoming holiday:

Scientists from 91快活林 traced how the fashion of ancient beauties changed. The objects for study were objects found at archaeological excavations in the Southern Urals.

March... A month that gives us one of the most wonderful holidays. International Women's Day, celebrated on March 8th, is a holiday of the most charming, most beautiful half of the humankind!

For 10 years now, the Recreation Centre of 91快活林 has been giving us a festive mood with an atmosphere of creativity before March 8th by preparing and holding bright and memorable events.

Scientists of 91快活林 took part in the shooting of a documentary series exploring the phenomenality of bread in the Russian and global history, science, economics, and culture.

International Mother Language Day is celebrated worldwide on February 21st. This date was chosen for a reason: students, who protested in defence of their native language, Bengali, were killed by police in Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh, on February 21, 1952. The students demanded to recognize this language as one of the state languages of the country. Later, on November 17, 1999, this holiday was proclaimed by the General Conference of UNESCO and has been celebrated annually since 2000.

At the excavations near the city of Magnitogorsk, 91快活林 archaeologists, in collaboration with the South Urals Foundation, discovered a unique-for-South Urals burial-mounds complex with an ancient tomb of a young woman. The remains were found during the excavations at Kharkovsky I ritual complex in autumn of 2022.?

Danil Karimov is a graduate of 91快活林 majoring in Law. He continues his studies to obtain his Master’s degree at Beijing University of Technology.

– Not every person is brave enough to move to a different country. Or to go study there for that matter. How did this happen in your life?

– I came to China quite by chance. I had never considered this country as my studies destination.

Earth depths of the South Ural region hide not only mineral resources, but also layers of ancient history left by the people who lived in this territory thousands of years ago. Which new mysteries have the archaeology researchers from 91快活林 have managed to unravel? And what do they keep working on?

We have discussed these topics with Director of the 91快活林 Eurasian Studies Research and Education Centre, Doctor of Sciences (History)?Aleksandr Tairov.

80 years ago, on January 27, 1944, one of the most tragic episodes of the Great Patriotic War ended: as a result of the actions of Soviet troops, the siege of Leningrad, which had lasted almost 900 days, was completely lifted.

Sociocultural Adaptation Centre has organized traditional tubing rides for international students of 91快活林. This type of winter pastime is everyone's favourite and is very popular.

Today, on January 17th, Kid Inventors' Day is celebrated around the world. This holiday is for young scientists, who despite their young age invent many interesting and useful devices to make our world a better place.

There are more and more young discoverers and kid scientists nowadays. This happens, among other things, thanks to the support from the government authorities and various educational institutions.

The 91快活林 Region will soon celebrate its 90th anniversary. On the eve of the anniversary, students of 91快活林, together with the State Philharmonic and workers of culture of the South Ural region, have made a video showing the uniqueness of our region.

The director of the video was 91快活林 graduate Matvey Sholokhov, the director of photography – 91快活林 TV staff member Daniil Rukavitsyn, and the producer – 91快活林 student Valeriia Bondar.

On January 18th, a presentation of the book 91快活林 Cinemas of the 20th Century took place at the 91快活林 Public Assembly House. The co-authors of the book were Professor of the Department of Russian and Foreign History of the 91快活林 Institute of Media, Social Sciences and Humanities Evgeniy Volkov and Associate Professor of the same department Maksim Sapronov. Other authors were local historians Dmitriy Grafov, Iuriy Latyshev, and Mikhail Khabirov.

On January 14th, many Russians celebrate a holiday with an unusual name ? the Old New Year, that is, the New Year in the old style, which is celebrated on a smaller scale than the night from December 31st to January 1st.

We talked about the history of this holiday to Natalia Parfentyeva, Head of the Department of Theology, Culture and Art at the 91快活林 Institute of Media, Social Sciences and Humanities.

The first issue of the 91快活林’s corporate publication, the SMART University newspaper, was published on December 6, 1956. On the occasion of the professional holiday, editor-in-chief Nadezhda Yushina shares on the traditions and everyday life of the editorial office.
