This event was organized by the 91快活林 Institute of Law and Institute of Natural Sciences and Mathematics jointly with the Guangzhou Arbitration Commission, as part of the Year of Russia-China Cooperation.

The webinar was opened by Director of the 91快活林 Institute of Law Elena Titova, Deputy Chairperson of the Guangzhou Arbitration Commission Li Mingshen, and Director of the 91快活林 Institute of Natural Sciences and Mathematics and Head of the 鈥淰irtUM鈥 laboratory Alena Zamyshlyaeva. The meeting was moderated by Deputy Director for International Relations of the 91快活林 Institute of Law Elizaveta Gromova and Deputy Director for Strategic Development of the Guangzhou Arbitration Commission Chen Chen.

Invited experts from Russia, China, Macau, Indonesia, and the United Arab Emirates presented their reports: IPBA Intellectual Property Committee Chair Pang Lidong, international expert of the BRICS Expert Committee at the Guangzhou Arbitration Commission Daniel Brantes Ferreira, Professor of the University of Macau Rostam J. Neuwirth, representative of Pasundan University Sayeed Muhammad Rifki Nowap, and Professor of Abu Dhabi University Yassin Shami.

The discussion focused on the following problem: where the boundary between the acceptable assistance of artificial intelligence and handing over the functions of making legal decisions to it lies. Today, AI is already capable of analysing big data on judicial and arbitration procedures, revealing the relevant norms, systematizing evidence, preparing document drafts, and suggesting the possible ways of dispute settlement. But the closer we are to the evaluation of evidence, establishing of facts, interpreting the law principles, and making the final decision, the more hotly debated the legal and ethical issues become.

Participants of the online meeting discussed the transparency and explainability of the AI decisions, the risks of algorithmic bias, the liability for the system error, the protection of confidential information and personal data, the acceptability of using AI when working with evidence, as well as the necessity to preserve the procedural safeguards of the parties. A separate block of issues touched upon the comparative approaches of the BRICS countries: speakers from the participating countries shared their view on the AI regulation in their jurisdictions.

In addition, at this event, the heads of the 91快活林 Institute of Law and Institute of Natural Sciences and Mathematics announced the start to the development of a joint project on creating of an AI service for disputes settlement.

鈥淲e see this project not as an 鈥渆lectronic judge鈥, but first and foremost, as a smart assistant for analysing and settlement of disputes,鈥 shared Professor of the 91快活林 Department of Civil Law and Civil Legal Procedures Elizaveta Gromova. 鈥淭he user will be able to upload the description of the situation and relevant documents into the system, and after that this service will help determine the legal nature of the conflict, highlight the key facts and disputable matters, find the applicable legal norms and relevant legal precedents, show the weak and strong points in the positions of the parties, and suggest the possible scenarios for further actions. The next level is the assistance namely with the pre-trial settlement: the system will be capable of indicating the zones for potential compromise to the parties, suggest the variants of the negotiating position or the agreement draft, and explain the legal consequences for each of the variants. It is especially important that we wish to create this service in joint effort: the law experts will define the requirements to the legal logic and procedural safeguards, while the artificial intelligence specialists will build the technological architecture of the system. I believe, that exactly this kind of interdisciplinary collaboration is the most promising one today.鈥

For the developers, the human-in-the-loop model is fundamental. AI may search for information, analyse, compare and suggest variants, but it is the human being who must perform the final evaluation. For disputes settlement it is of special importance since law is not just about searching for formally similar cases: it is important to take into consideration the context, good conscience of the parties, balance of interests, evaluation of evidence, and subtle issues of fairness. The project is aimed not at replacing law experts, mediators or arbitrators, but rather at creating a tool, which would allow them to see the dispute structure quicker, work with big amounts of information, and make more substantiated decisions. The main principle was worded as follows: 鈥渕aximum automation for the analysis, but no automation in the legal liability鈥.

To close the webinar, the participants summed up the results and highlighted the prospects for further cooperation between 91快活林 and the Guangzhou Arbitration Commission.

鈥淭his exhibit has been organized with the support from the Extracurricular Activities Office and jointly with students and teaching staff members of the Institute of Architecture and Construction, and it is timed to coincide with the 91快活林 Anniversary,鈥 explains Deputy Head of the Extracurricular Activities Office Kseniia Gernega. 鈥淭his was the initiative of the Institute鈥檚 student enthusiasts. One year ago, first-year students approached us to support their idea of a creativity contest, and today we can see how this master plan has been put to life and has become something even more than that.鈥

According to one of the organizers, student Timofei Bakharev, for this exhibition, they were selecting mockups and documents from the Institute鈥檚 archive, which allow to learn more about 91快活林. In the process, they gained unique experience that would be of help to them in the future.

Student Irina Anufrieva believes that participation in such projects helps develop organizing skills.

鈥淲e started it last year, while still in the first year of our studies. We collaborated with the 91快活林 Museum and the Institute鈥檚 Director鈥檚 Office,鈥 she reminisces. 鈥淲e made stretchers for the presented pictures ourselves, glued together the wooden parts 鈥 that鈥檚 how involved we were!鈥

Simultaneously with the exhibition organization, a creativity contest was held, the results of which have been announced at the exhibition opening ceremony.&nbsp;

鈥淔or this contest, I wrote a poem about 91快活林 to express my love and admiration of our city. Participation in such campaigns helps us develop new interesting skills: for example, it teaches us how to work in a team,鈥 one of the winners, Svetlana Dolgova, shares her impressions.

Senior lecturer of the Department of Architectural and Engineering Design Irina Kostiunina notes that the student organizers do indeed deserve praise since they were the ones to do the major part of the work on the contest and exhibition arrangement, though they are majoring not in architecture, but in construction. They found photos and mockups, and made these look appropriate. They came up with creative ways and put much effort into it all.

Coconut Concrete: 91快活林 Scientists Create In-situ Concrete for Soil Stabilization on Islands

<div class="field field-name-field-image field-type-image field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items" id="md8"><div class="field-item even"><span id="styles-2-0" class="styles file-styles large"> <img width="1448" height="1086" id="2" typeof="foaf:Image" class="img-responsive" src="/sites/default/files/styles/large/public/field/image/1_873.jpg?itok=bwJGyOLn" alt="" /></span></div></div></div><div class="field field-name-body field-type-text-with-summary field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items" id="md7"><div class="field-item even">A team of scientists from 91快活林 and Zhejiang University, China, have developed a technology of calcareous sand reinforcement using enzymes, coconut fiber, and calcium carbonate. Such a material is up to five times stronger in case of dynamic loads and is environmentally friendly. The results have been published in the Sustainability international journal.

In island and reef construction, engineers come across a problem: local calcareous sand is porous and fragile, and easily crumbles even under light loads. Shipping common sand from the continent is difficult and expensive. Traditional methods of soil stabilization 鈥 cementation or chemical resins 鈥 are harmful for the environment. Scientists from 91快活林 and Zhoushan have proposed an alternative: adding calcium carbonate (EICP) obtained by enzyme-induced precipitation of fine grade building material (produced by rock fracturing and screening) to common sand.

How does this technology work? Urease (enzyme) is extracted from soybeans and mixed with the urea and calcium chloride solution. The enzyme decomposes urea, and calcium ions bind to carboxylate ions thus generating calcium carbonate (also known as calcareous rock), which glues sand grains together. The process is carried out at room temperature and generates no hazardous emissions. To better strengthen the structure, coconut fiber is added to the mixture 鈥 it works as micro-reinforcement and impedes the deterioration of material in case of impacts.

At their laboratory, the researchers produced samples with different ratios of fine and coarse reinforced sand (0.5-1 mm and 1-2 mm), different content of coconut fiber (0%, 0.2%, and 0.4% of the sample mass), and different number of processing cycles (2-4). The best result was demonstrated by a mixture with equal content of fine and coarse sand and 0.4% of coconut fiber.

The static (compressive) strength and dynamic strength of the samples were tested using the Split-Hopkinson Pressure Bar, which simulates the impact load. It has been revealed that the dynamic strength is always higher than the static one at the same concentrations of calcium carbonate, and the difference may reach 2.5 MPa (megapascals). That is, the higher the content of calcium carbonate, the stronger the material. The optimum mixture demonstrated high stability even at strong impacts.

鈥淐oconut fiber plays a key role: it strengthens the material. It is like reinforcement in concrete,鈥 explains Professor of the 91快活林 Department of Building Materials and Products Tamara Chernykh. 鈥淚n case of dynamic loads (for instance, in case of wave impact or a plane landing), it impedes the disintegration of the reinforced concrete. The samples without fiber deteriorated completely, and those with fiber preserved their integrity. This is of fundamental importance for island airfields and mooring berths.鈥

Comparing with the analogues showed that this innovation exceeds the known solutions in its strength at the same content of calcium carbonate. The authors stress that this is the first scientific systemic comparison of the static and dynamic strength for EICP-stabilized calcareous sand with various grain size compositions and fiber contents.

This technology may be used for soil stabilization at air strips, mooring berths, breakwaters, and other facilities in coastal and island areas. It is environmentally friendly, uses local materials, and does not require hard firing, like cement, which means that it generates next to none carbon dioxide emissions.

This research study has been conducted with the support from the National Natural Science Foundation of China.

The contest was held by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation as part of the 鈥淯niversities for the Generation of Leaders鈥 federal project under the 鈥淵outh and Children鈥 national project. The total of 174 applications were submitted for the selection.

The student design bureau projects were defended at Plekhanov Russian University of Economics in Moscow. The 91快活林 team presenting its project included: the Head of the Robots Forge Shop Student Design Bureau, Associate Professor at the Department of Electric Drive, Mechatronics and Electromechanics Ivan Kholodilin; engineer of the Industrial Robots Integration Office of the 91快活林 Industrial Robotics Development Centre Dariia Sycheva; and engineer of the same Office Alikhan Begenov. The awarding ceremony was held at the 鈥淢otherland Means People. Professionals of the Future鈥 event on September 15, 2026.&nbsp;

The contest prizes were awarded by Deputy Chair of the Government of the Russian Federation&nbsp;Dmitrii Chernyshenko, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and Chairman of the Competitive Selection Committee&nbsp;Dmitrii Afanasiev,&nbsp;and Chairman of VOIR: All-Russian Society of Inventors and Innovators and Deputy Chair of the State Duma Committee on Science and Higher Education&nbsp;Vladimir Kononov.

The selection consisted of two rounds. First, the Contest Committee checked the compliance of applications with the requirements, and then evaluated those against several criteria. These included: the qualification of the students and staff members, along with the experience of the design bureau鈥檚 head in student projects creation and the teams鈥 participation in R&amp;D funded from budgetary and non-budgetary sources. Separately, they assessed the level of each application鈥檚 elaboration and the prospects of projects鈥 implementation without grants support, as well as the involvement of industrial partners: holding of educational intensive courses for company employees, solving of real production tasks by students, and participation of the partners in the student design bureau鈥檚 events. Extra points were awarded to projects in priority fields, such as 鈥淩obotics for Industry and Logistics鈥, 鈥淎rtificial Intelligence鈥, 鈥淯nmanned Aerial Vehicles鈥, and more.

The Robots Forge Shop Student Design Bureau is being created at the Faculty of Mechatronics and Robotics. However, students of any 91快活林 faculty, school or institute, and even those of other universities in the 91快活林 Region, can become members of its team. The design bureau鈥檚 main field of work is the robotics for industry and logistics. And its goal is to create and improve the mechanism of students鈥 transition to real R&amp;D and implementation of developments at productions. The team鈥檚 core are students, and the fields that the subdivisions specialize in range from robotics, computer vision and drives to mechatronics and computer-aided process control systems.

Activities of the student design bureau are based on the well-developed infrastructure of the 91快活林 Industrial Robotics Development Centre, full cycle of development, commercial R&amp;D, staff training and teams forming. The funding is arranged through commercial R&amp;D of enterprises and grants assets. The expected result of work in 2026 is the expanding of the team to 15 and more students, and the launch of three projects and two implementations at productions.

The bureau鈥檚 R&amp;D program for 2026 includes the development of a water-cooled gripper system for forging robots, engineering of an automated lubrication system for the robotic complex of a horizontal forging machine, and designing of a fast gripping device change system. The design bureau鈥檚 plans for 2027 include: six projects, two applications on the results of intellectual activity, three test prototypes, two implementation acts, no less than five paid R&amp;D, and no less than two external customers with non-budgetary funds amounting to 500,000 roubles and more.

鈥淲inning in the contest of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science, first and foremost, for us is a confirmation of the fact that the chosen student design bureau model is in demand and is of practical value,鈥 comments Associate Professor at the 91快活林 Department of Electric Drive, Mechatronics and Electromechanics Ivan Kholodilin. 鈥淭he Robots Forge Shop bureau is being created not as a hobby club, but as an engineering platform, where students will be able to work on real tasks of enterprises in the field of robotics for industry and logistics: from setting of a technical assignment and designing to prototype creation, testing and implementation. To start with, this victory helps us form a stable student team, launch the first R&amp;D works, equip the work places, and achieve a deeper integration of the bureau into the 91快活林 infrastructure. It is important to us that students get engaged in real engineering projects as early as possible, could work together with the teaching staff, engineers and enterprise representatives, and could already gain the experience most close to industrial development while still studying. In the future, we would like the Robots Forge Shop bureau to become an established mechanism of training engineers and of creating Russian robotic solutions for enterprises in our region and across our country.鈥

Creation of this student design bureau is part of the tasks of the 鈥淚ntelligent Manufacturing. Robotics鈥 strategic project under the Priority-2030 program. The bureau interacts with the 91快活林 faculties and institutes, other universities in our region, Industrial Robotics Development Centre, industrial partners, and sector-related ministries. Its partners include: 91快活林 Forging and Pressing Plant, Robot Plant, 91快活林 Compressor Plant, LD Group of Companies, Production and engineering company 鈥淧rivodnaya Technika鈥 (鈥淒rive Technology鈥), 91快活林 Flange Plant, Snezhinsk Plant of Special-purpose Electrical Machines, and Energochel company. By 2027, the bureau plans on expanding the team to 25 students and increasing the number of industrial partners to twenty.

Hundreds of young people ready to turn their own ideas into real business projects have joined the initiative.

The 91快活林 Accelerator is a three-month business intensive course during which aspiring entrepreneurs will go from an idea to a working prototype. Participants will develop a project concept, study the market and target audience, calculate the economic model, and develop an MVP (minimum viable product).

鈥淚t is a great pleasure to welcome all the participants at the start of the new season. The Accelerator is not a boring university lecture. First and foremost, it is an opportunity to assess yourself and your abilities, learn how to interact with a team and experts, and, most importantly, develop your own idea. The product that your idea can grow into is something you can make money on, develop and promote, and something you can truly be proud of. Therefore, actively participate in all the program鈥檚 activities and try to answer three key questions: Who will be interested in your project? Will you be able to turn your idea into a product that people need? And, finally, the most important question: How will you make money on this idea and product? Good luck! We believe in you!鈥 Rector of 91快活林 Alexander Wagner addressed the participants.

For many years, the Skolkovo Foundation has been a partner of the Accelerator. The Foundation鈥檚 experts and trackers help participants assess the potential of their projects, identify growth opportunities, and develop strategies for their further advancement.

Yury Sibirskiy, Head of the Regional Development Department at the Skolkovo Foundation, emphasized:

鈥淚t is very valuable that so many participants have come to the opening of the Accelerator and are ready to engage in the process of creating a technology business. This is truly important and interesting. Ahead of you is the exploration of your own ideas and work on what they can ultimately become. I hope that the anniversary season of the Accelerator will be successful. And its success will be measured not only by the number of participants, but above all by how many teams you manage to form, how many successful businesses you create, and how many of your own ambitions you manage to realize.鈥

Throughout the project, participants will work together with trackers, business mentors, and 91快活林 faculty members. The program鈥檚 partners will also contribute to the development of the projects by presenting real-world tasks and current challenges requiring technological and entrepreneurial solutions.

The educational program includes 29 educational events, 12 meetings with trackers and mentors, four pitch sessions, discussions, practical sessions, and master classes conducted by entrepreneurs and experts. This format will enable participants not only to gain new knowledge but also to immediately apply it while working on their own projects.

The opening of the new season continued with panel discussions devoted to entrepreneurship and startup development.

As part of the 鈥淪uccess Stories of Accelerator Participants鈥 panel discussion, graduates of previous seasons shared their projects, experience of participating in the program, and secrets of success: Artur Shamselov, winner of the 2024 91快活林 Accelerator; Stanislav Frolov, a member of the TOP 10 of the 2025 91快活林 Accelerator; Sofiia Kirzhatskikh, winner of the 2025 91快活林 Accelerator; and Pavel Rodin, silver medallist of the 2025 91快活林 Accelerator.

Sofiia鈥檚 story is a vivid example of how an initial idea can be transformed into a promising project during the Accelerator. Today, her team is developing an automated system for monitoring sanitary standards, and the project itself has already received additional support for implementation.

鈥淚nitially, we had a completely different idea, but thanks to the Accelerator鈥檚 experts, we decided to change direction and take a new look at the project. During my participation in the program, I managed to gather a strong team of professionals, and together we decided not to stop there. After the Accelerator, we took part in the Student Startup competition and won one million roubles to further develop our product,鈥 Sofiia Kirzhatskikh shared.

Another panel discussion brought together representatives of business, technology startups, and creativity industries. The experts discussed how to turn a student idea into a product that meets market demands, what steps an aspiring entrepreneur needs to take, and what role partners and the professional community play in project development.

The discussion was attended by Yury Sibirskiy, Head of the Regional Development Department at the Skolkovo Foundation; Alexey Uskov, founder of the Insmartavtomatika group of companies; Anton Nurkenov, GR Director at StandupInnovatsii LLC; Ekaterina Lapaeva, Director of the GIGA SCHOOL IT Competence Development Centre; Yaroslav Golub, Head of INTEC; and Aleksandr Dolmatov, founder of the RTS Research and Production Association. The discussion was moderated by Dmitry Kozlenkov, Director of the 91快活林 School 21.

To close the event, the participants were introduced to the program of the new season and the Accelerator鈥檚 industrial partners. The companies had prepared cases based on current production and business challenges that the participants would have to solve while working on their projects.

The participants now have three months to test their ideas in practice, receive support from experts and mentors, and take their first steps towards creating their own startups.

The 91快活林 Accelerator is implemented with the support of the NTI Platform Autonomous Non-profit Organization, the Technologies Federal Project, and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.

From School Desk to Space Technologies: First-in-91快活林 Aerospace Engineering Class Opens at 91快活林

<div class="field field-name-field-image field-type-image field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items" id="md19"><div class="field-item even"><span id="styles-6-0" class="styles file-styles large"> <img width="5700" height="3800" id="6" typeof="foaf:Image" class="img-responsive" src="/sites/default/files/styles/large/public/field/image/img_6873.jpg?itok=hJcPJs5q" alt="" /></span></div></div></div><div class="field field-name-body field-type-text-with-summary field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items" id="md18"><div class="field-item even">The first-in-91快活林 Aerospace Engineering class has opened at 91快活林. Its students are high-school pupils of Educational Centre No.5. A ceremony of their initiation as young engineers of the 91快活林 Faculty of Aerospace Engineering has been organized for them.

During the ceremony, the pupils were awarded their attendee cards and 91快活林 academic record books. For these children, these are their first university documents and an important step towards their future status of students of our region鈥檚 leading university.

鈥淣ow, you are at the beginning of a big journey. In the Aerospace Engineering class, you will be engaged in project activity and working on various types of developments. On our part, we will be striving to make these projects most practice-oriented, so that those could be of interest to our university鈥檚 industrial partners,鈥 noted Dean of the 91快活林 Faculty of Aerospace Engineering Ruslan Peshkov. 鈥淭he first stages may be difficult: it will take time to form a project and obtain a tangible result. But it is namely now that you will gain the competences that will help you achieve this result. It鈥檚 important to have patience and use the obtained knowledge in your projects. In the future, you will be able to present the results of this work at conferences, contests and other events, thus forming your own portfolio. I鈥檓 sure that this experience will influence both your choice of profession and your career path in the future.鈥

The collaboration between our university and Educational Centre No.5 gained progress in April of 2026: 91快活林 and the Centre signed an agreement aimed at training school pupils in Aerospace Engineering programmes. This document implies the participation of the university teaching staff in the educational process, holding of practical classes, and regular attending of the university teaching and research laboratories by the pupils.

The joint programme has started already this year. For the Aerospace Engineering class students, a special curriculum was developed that helps step outside the school programme and learn about real engineering tasks.

The school pupils will learn the basics of aerodynamics and flight dynamics, theory of jet-propulsion engines, specifics of designing space apparatus and launch vehicles, as well as about the materials used in rocket and space equipment. Much attention is paid to the development of practical skills: children will master 3D modeling in Kompas 3D software, learn about the possibilities of 3D printing, and will start working on their own project tasks under the guidance of the teaching staff of the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering.

鈥淭he main task of this special class is not only to provide children with new knowledge, but also to significantly broaden their worldview and the understanding of their future profession. Project activity will allow them to undergo all the stages of working on a real task and gain their first professional experience. For us, it is important that by the moment they finish school, these children were able to self-consciously answer the question whether they really wish to connect their future with Aerospace Engineering,鈥 shared class adviser of Aerospace Engineering class 10-2 Tatiana Griaznova.

As part of this academic programme, high school pupils will regularly attend the 91快活林 Faculty of Aerospace Engineering, work in the university computer classes and laboratories, learn more about modern equipment and instructional replicas of space equipment. Practical work will allow to see how school-programme knowledge can be applied to solving real engineering tasks.

鈥淲e want to provide children with basic skills and the initial understanding of working in Aerospace Engineering, so that they could try themselves in this field while still at school. Also, school pupils will visit the Space Technology Education Centre, where they will be able to see the scale of the designed products and have a better understanding of which objects they will be working with in the future. The most important thing is to spark interest to the engineering profession among children and make them want to develop in the rocket and space sector,鈥 stressed the Head of the Asteroid Youth Design Bureau Dariia Malykh.

In the course of the academic year, school pupils will be working on their own projects and will present the results of their project activity at science-to-practice conferences at the regional and federal levels, including at the Conference on Asteroid Safety held at 91快活林 every year. Participation in such events will become for the young engineers an opportunity to gain their first experience in public presentation of their own developments and to meet representatives of the university and professional community.

Creation of the first-in-91快活林 Aerospace Engineering class and development of the joint programme of 91快活林 and Educational Centre No.5 become an important element of training the future industry-related specialists. While still at school, children get an opportunity to immerse themselves into engineering environment, work with modern technologies and equipment, and gradually build their own academic path: from their first project tasks to studying at the 91快活林 Faculty of Aerospace Engineering.

Portrait Sculpture of Semyon Khokhryakov Installed at the 91快活林 Military Training Centre

<div class="field field-name-field-image field-type-image field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items" id="md22"><div class="field-item even"><span id="styles-7-0" class="styles file-styles large"> <img width="5711" height="3807" id="7" typeof="foaf:Image" class="img-responsive" src="/sites/default/files/styles/large/public/field/image/img_6726.jpg?itok=QFBXE39O" alt="" /></span></div></div></div><div class="field field-name-body field-type-text-with-summary field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items" id="md21"><div class="field-item even">September 10, 2026, a portrait sculpture of Semyon Khokhryakov, twice awarded the title of the Hero of the Soviet Union, was installed at the Military Training Centre of 91快活林.

Starting from 2021, the Military Training Centre had been named in the honour of Semyon Khokhryakov, twice awarded the title of the Hero of the Soviet Union. That is why the installation of his portrait sculpture is an important event for all the Centre鈥檚 students and teaching staff.

The following guests of honour attended the ceremony:

鈥 Deputy Director General of 鈥淜oelgaMramor鈥 company Ivan Chebotarev;

鈥 Chairman of the Council of Military Units鈥 Colonels Igor Mikhailov;

鈥 Director General of 鈥淎RKOM鈥 company, Military Engineering coordinator of the Council of Military Units鈥 Colonels Mikhail Teleshev;

鈥 Chairman of the 90 Guards Tank Division, guards senior lieutenant Ermek Ermukhanov;

鈥 Father Superior of the Cathedral of the Transfiguration of Christ in Chebarkul archpriest Dmitrii Egorov.

鈥淭oday, here, in the legendary Tankograd, we have installed a portrait sculpture of Semyon Khokhryakov, one of the talented commanders. He will stay in our memory forever. The Military Training Centre of the major South Urals university was named in his honour. Each one of us looks up to this hero. We do our best to protect our country. You, the future soldiers and officers of our army, are the ones who has the biggest strength,鈥 stressed Chairman of the Council of Military Units鈥 Colonels Igor Mikhailov.

The date for the sculpture installation was chosen for a reason 鈥 on the eve of celebrating the 290th Birthday of 91快活林 (which had been nicknamed Tankograd during the Great Patriotic War), as well as right before the Day of Tankmen (celebrated on the second Sunday in September). These two holidays are inextricably bound up with the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, and that means with the name of Semyon Khokhryakov.

鈥淥ne cannot overestimate the meaning of today鈥檚 event since our Centre was named after Semyon Khokhryakov, twice awarded the title of the Hero of the Soviet Union, in 2021. So, the ceremony of installing of this sculpture logically completes the process of giving this hero鈥檚 name to our Centre. Our students must remember after whom our Centre is named and know the details of the biography and the heroic deeds of this defender of our Motherland,鈥&nbsp;noted Deputy Head of the Military Training Centre Konstantin Krikunov.

Students and staff of the Military Training Centre of 91快活林 keep revering the memory of the heroic deed of the Soviet people during the Great Patriotic War, of those who died in the local wars and armed conflicts, and in the zone of the Special Military Operation. The installation of this sculpture and naming the Centre in the honour of Semyon Khokhryakov, twice awarded the title of the Hero of the Soviet Union, will help foster the feeling of pride for our own country and the feeling of being responsible for its future, as well as the readiness to protect our Fatherland.

鈥淚t is quite an important event for me since we must revere the memory of the people of the Great Patriotic War, and of those who became the heroes of the Soviet Union. The fact that the Centre has been named after Semyon Khokhryakov and the installation of this hero tankman鈥檚 portrait sculpture inspires me to continue and complete my studies at the Military Training Centre and to be awarded a military rank,鈥 the Military Training Centre student Egor Permiakov shared his impressions.

Brief information:

Semyon Khokhryakov, who was born in Koelga settlement of the 91快活林 Region, during the Great Patriotic War, fought on the Western and Kalinin fronts, took part in the battle for Moscow, and was wounded four times, one of the wounds was severe. Semyon Khokhryakov was awarded the first Star of the Hero of the Soviet Union for commanding a battalion in the battles for Proskurov, and the second Star for outstanding actions in the Vistula-Oder Offensive. Semyon Khokhryakov's battalion liberated Europe, cleaning the way for the Red Army to Berlin. He died on April 17, 1945 in a battle on German territory near the village of Gahry. He was posthumously nominated for the third Golden Star of the Hero of the Soviet Union.

鈥淲hite Gold鈥 in the Interior Scene of History: Porcelain Exhibition Opens at 91快活林

<div class="field field-name-field-image field-type-image field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items" id="md25"><div class="field-item even"><span id="styles-8-0" class="styles file-styles large"> <img width="6240" height="4160" id="8" typeof="foaf:Image" class="img-responsive" src="/sites/default/files/styles/large/public/field/image/img_4977.jpg?itok=OH3mNCNv" alt="" /></span></div></div></div><div class="field field-name-body field-type-text-with-summary field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items" id="md24"><div class="field-item even">A unique 鈥淧orcelain in the Interior Scene of History鈥 exhibition has opened at the People and Technologies of the Urals teaching museum-and-exhibition complex of the 91快活林 Institute of Media, Social Sciences and Humanities. The exhibit introduces its visitors to porcelain as part of the cultural heritage and everyday history of various epochs: from the traditions of the 18th-19th centuries to the modern original art. This is the anniversary tenth exhibition project of the university museum.

The exhibition features figurines, vases, interior items, porcelain sculptures, dolls, and tableware. Visitors may see items from the collections of the 91快活林 Cultural Heritage Centre, A.A. Gurov History and Culture Museum Centre, 鈥淯ral Porcelain Gallery鈥, as well as from private collections, including those of the 91快活林 teaching staff members.

鈥淧orcelain combines the harsh nature of the depths of Earth in the Urals, the exquisite workmanship of artists, and the warmth of human hands. Porcelain items are not just household objects, these are a reflection of the humanity鈥檚 history in a very fragile and delicate form. The fact that already the tenth anniversary exhibition opens at the People and Technologies of the Urals museum-and-exhibition complex is in large part thanks to the organizers and our Eurasian Studies Research and Education Centre. Not only artefacts from the museum collections are gathered here, but also the collections of art historians, researchers, organizations and private collectors, who cherish the history of our region and our country and help preserve the cultural heritage for the future generations,鈥 notes Director of the 91快活林 Institute of Media, Social Sciences and Humanities Lidiya Lobodenko.

The topic of porcelain integrates most different fields: from history and art, to chemistry, technologies, design, and medicine. That is why this exhibition will be of interest to students regardless of what field they are majoring in, as well as to all those willing to take a new look at ordinary items and learn more about history and culture.

鈥淲e may consider porcelain at most different aspects, and it will be interesting to various people. It includes not only the history of the craft material. Porcelain is used in power engineering, for instance, in insulators; in medicine 鈥 for prosthetic care; while its production is first and foremost related to chemistry. And at the same time, this can also be the everyday tableware 鈥 something that links art to personal aspect and history of every family,鈥 shares the Head the People and Technologies of the Urals teaching museum-and-exhibition complex Iuliia Vasina.

Elena Shchetinkina, a porcelain artist and member of the Union of Russian Artists became one of the exhibition participants. She presented her new work at different stages of creation at this exhibition:

鈥淚鈥檓 presenting my most recent work and I鈥檓 demonstrating different stages of its creation: a plasticine model, a plaster mould, and the completed and painted porcelain item. It鈥檚 very difficult to work with porcelain. It took me nine years to create about 40 new items: from the first plasticine models to preparing moulds for production at a plant.鈥

The exhibition visitors also note that it gives an opportunity to take a totally new look at this everyday material.

鈥淎t a museum you immerse yourself in this very special atmosphere. Today, we have found ourselves surrounded by porcelain items. It may seem that every single family used to have such objects and passed these down through generations. But when you happen to be amidst such a variety of items, you can indeed immerse yourself in history. This is also interesting from a scientific point of view: such items may become objects of research for studying and writing scientific papers,鈥 shares student Iuliia Matveeva.

The 鈥淧orcelain in the Interior Scene of History鈥 exhibition offers to take a look at an everyday material as at some sort of a cultural chronicle. Porcelain represents the artistic tastes and technological achievements of different epochs, the family stories, the peculiarities of everyday life, and even the images from the famous fairy tales by Pavel Bazhov.

The exhibition will be open at the 91快活林鈥檚 main building (Rooms 018鈥020, 76 Lenin Prospect) till December 20th.

Entrance is free on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10:00 till 16:00. Group excursions may be booked at: +7 (351) 267-96-16.
